Hello again. We weren’t expecting to be in touch again so soon, but the government’s announcement that there will be a second lockdown has forced us to clarify our situation.
On Sunday the Directors of Milton Keynes Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Group (MKMSTG), with the support of members of the Management Group, carefully considered the latest Government guidance regarding the COVID-19 lockdown being imposed in England from 12.01 am Thursday 5 Nov 2020.
The requirements taken from the government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november?priority-taxon=774cee22-d896-44c1-a611-e3109cce8eae, are as follows:
Some venues (like the MKMSTG) will be allowed to remain open for specific exempt activities. Support groups, like the MKMSTG, that are essential to deliver in person, for example to people with long term illness, can continue with up to 15 participants where formally organised to provide mutual aid, therapy or any other form of support. People will be able to leave home to visit these venues.
The MK MS Therapy Centre can therefore continue to stay open, with the robust infection control measures already in place in the Centre.
This decision needs the support of the members, volunteers, staff and therapists who currently attend the Centre. No cases of COVID-19 have occurred in anyone attending the Centre since it reopened on 3 August 2020. The safety of all individuals is the primary concern of the MKMSTG. All these individuals will be contacted and they will need to take their own individual decisions.
The position of the MKMSTG will be kept under constant review based on the Centre’s and National requirements and circumstances and rest assured we will keep you updated if we need to make any changes. Please take care and stay safe.
